CCE Intern – Data Analyst

Anqi Bu is a Data Analyst intern at the Center for Community Energy. Her main responsibilities include collecting apartments’ contact information from various websites for the County Heat Pump project.

Anqi graduated with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from University of California, San Diego and is currently studying towards a M. S. in Statistics. She has experience as a financial analyst at Weicepts, a financial company in California, where she managed and analyzed the loan performances record together with the factors of loan delinquency. With regards to her scraping experience, she worked as a data analyst intern for Hey Social Good, a Social Impact B2B SaaS company. She also had great experience analyzing the characteristics of a calculated index of the incoming solar radiation and paleoclimate records of repeated transitions between glacial and interglacial climates, i.e. ice age cycles, primarily during the Pleistocene epoch using Synchrosqueezed Wavelet Transform.

Anqi is passionate about using data to discover patterns about nature and society. She believes the truth about the balance between nature and humans is told by the statistical numbers and she strives to reveal the story by employing her knowledge of statistical methods and programing. In the future, she is looking forward to working on financial and environmental projects with a focus on modeling and prediction.
